Nominates New Treasury Secretary - US President George Bush has
nominated Henry M Paulson Jr. who is chief executive officer of a well
known financial firm called "Goldman Sachs" to be the next
Treasury Secretary.
- Ethanol
Tariff Cuts - In an attempt to find solutions for the oil problems,
Congress and the White House are discussing the idea of eliminating
the imported ethanol tariffs. This decision will be good for producers
of ethanol in countries like Brazil that are further ahead on the ethanol
path, but will meet a lot of opposition with American farmers.

Schwarzenegger takes on Global Warming - California Governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger plans to cut California's greenhouse gas emissions to
1990 levels. Rather than simply offering incentives to businesses to
cut back emissions, action will be mandatory.
