Google Cage Free Hens

As Google grows and continues to earn billions in profits each year, it affecting more than just the the internet and technology industry. With a work force of more than 6000 it also eats a lot of food, including more than 300,000 eggs and 7000 pounds of liquid egg products.
Google has chosen to use only cage free eggs in an effort to influence the way farmers treat animal welfare issues.

"Google officials say the decision is part of a wider effort to incorporate environmental and social values into food choices.
"We're happy to do it,'' said John Dickman, Google's global food services manager. "There's a ripple effect that I think will happen. Other companies also will want to ensure humane treatment of animals.'' Mercury News
